A leading investment platform headquartered in London has been at the forefront of the Fintech sector for more than 10 years. This project has been instrumental in the development and success of well-known brands such as RobinHood and Brave Browser.

In 2021, facing the challenge of developing new product features without the necessary in-house expertise, the Client sought to update and enhance their technical infrastructure.

They approached Ideamotive to find an interim-CTO with a strong background in leadership and technical expertise within the Fintech industry, aiming to bridge this gap and propel their product forward.

This interim-CTO was expected to identify and define the gaps in their current technology stack, setting a clear direction for advancement.

Process

We were introduced to the project in November 2021, beginning with an extensive audit. This in-depth evaluation not only identified the project's specific challenges but also highlighted a critical need for specialized leadership.

By taking full responsibility for hiring, onboarding, and the continuous development of knowledge, Ideamotive significantly reduces the burden on the Client. This allows them to focus on their primary business objectives, free from the added stress of managing talent.

Recognizing this, we leveraged our insights to suggest the perfect fit for the Tech Lead position. A week later we presented 3 candidates for the Tech Lead position. Among these profiles, the client selected the talent to hire – our development star Dawid K.

Dawid immediately got to work, leading the onboarding and establishing a comprehensive process within the client's technology infrastructure.

Team Expansion and Management

By January 2024, the technical team at the platform had expanded to 17 members, incorporating 10 key personnel from Ideamotive.

This expansion included the addition of much-needed expertise in areas such as DevOps and UI design, alongside backend and frontend developers. It was crucial for introducing new functionalities and breaking into new markets.

Dawid, now serving as the interim-CTO, played a key role in this expansion, ensuring that each new team member aligned perfectly with the team's cultural and technical objectives.

Project Execution and Delivery

Guided by Dawid's direction, the team achieved significant milestones: the overhaul of customer onboarding processes, the introduction of quality assurance protocols and the launch of two major platform updates: new user interface redesign and staking functionalities.

All in compliance with the strict regulatory standards of the investment sector.
