Memcare aims to transform the funeral market by optimizing day-to-day operations for funeral homes. From pen, paper, phone, and e-mail to a cutting-edge system that helps their clients organize funerals, manage customer and partner relations and every other aspect that funeral homes staff has to deal with daily.
When we started working with them, Memcare had already two solutions on the market - Memcare Partner a funeral home management system and Memcare Notify a tool for grieving families to make the funeral arrangments much simpler.
They already had an existing development team but wanted to move faster with their development process which at that moment meant rewriting the application's frontend from Ruby on Rails to React and adding new functions in both apps.
There were also additional challenges to face:
The development process lasted two months during which we not only rewritten the whole frontend app from scratch but also redesigned Memcare Partner and Memcare Notify. We gave it a new, more modern look that improved user experience and also was consistent with React best practices. During our cooperation Ideamotive's developers helped to improve the quality of work, processes and technical knowledge together Memcare's internal development team.
Memcare could deliver their product to the market much faster, but also with better quality code and designs. It also allowed the client to be able to get another investment round from their investor.
We assisted Memcare's internal development team with switching from Trello - their previously used project management tool - to Jira, which we used during our cooperation. They also gained much know-how about frontend development in React.
